Shelter Association Of Washtenaw County Helping The Homeless Find A Permanent Home

Shelter Association of Washtenaw County

The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County says more and more of their homeless clients are being placed in permanent homes during the pandemic.

The shelter association is finding homes for about three or four clients a week right now.  That’s double compared to March when the pandemic first started affecting their operations.  Dan Kelly is the executive director of the association and explains what’s changed.

Dan Kelly: We are seeing more and more contact with local landlords, and it’s a little easier to work with them as things open up.

While the numbers are going up, they’re still lower than last year during this same time when the association was finding permanent homes for four or five of their clients a week.
