Additional Absentee Ballot Drop-Off Boxes To Be Installed In Washtenaw County

City of Ann Arbor

The Washtenaw County Elections Department says voters will soon start to see an increase in the number of absentee ballot drop-off boxes being installed around the county.

Ypsilanti Township, the City of Ypsilanti, and Ann Arbor are among the municipalities that will install additional drop-off boxes for the November general election.  The City of Ann Arbor alone will add an additional five boxes.  They’re waiting for the boxes to be delivered and are in the process of identifying where they will be installed.  Ed Golembiewski is the director of elections for the county.

Ed Golembiewski: As it stands, more than a third of registered voters in Washtenaw County have requested their absent voter ballot. So, I think it’s safe to say that at least half to three-quarters of votes that are cast during the November general election will be by absent voter ballot.
