TheRide To Restore Bus Service In Western Ann Arbor

TheRide

The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority, also known as TheRide, plans to restore bus service in Western Ann Arbor.

Route 26 will be restored on November 22nd to offer service every 30 minutes between Scio Church Road and South Maple Road in Ann Arbor.  TheRide stopped offering service in that area a couple of months ago when it rolled out a temporary service plan during the pandemic.  Bryan Smith is the deputy CEO of operations.

Bryan Smith: It’s fairly dense residential throughout that area, along Scio Church on Maple Road. It’s looking to bring people into downtown, into the university to get people into work, school and what have you.

TheRide also announced that, on November 22nd, it will add a weekend FlexRide service in Ypsilanti Township.  FlexRide is a shared shuttle service that helps riders connect to bus routes.
