A leader of an effort to save a slice of Rosie the Riveter's old Michigan plant says his group soon will sign a purchase agreement for the property.
Yankee Air Museum founder Dennis Norton said Tuesday he and the Willow Run facility's owner are "getting closer" to a deal. He's hoping the agreement will be signed by the end of the week, "but it could go into next week."
Norton's group raised millions to buy a 150,000-square-foot piece of the old factory for use as the new home of the Yankee Air Museum.
The rest of the Ypsilanti Township plant where the original Rosie - Rose Will Monroe - helped make bombers during World War II is being razed in part to make way for a connected vehicle research center.
