The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that, in 2015, over 600,000 legal abortions were reported. To reduce that number, members of the anti-abortion group, Created Equal, made a stop at Eastern Michigan University as part of a traveling campus tour. 89.1 WEMU's Jorge Avellan was there and has the story.
"What do you guys think about abortion?"
"I think you should take that down, because it actually hurts people who've had miscarriages..."
An EMU student reacts to graphic photos of what a fetus looks like after an abortion. Members from the group Created Equal placed the photos outside of the Health and Human Services College.
Evangeline Dunn is a program coordinator for the group.
"The images are graphic because abortion is graphic. We didn't choose them to be graphic. We looked at the aftermath of abortion, and this is what we got," said Dunn.
Student Whitney Sutherland is pro-choice.
"I believe a woman should have a choice, because it's their life," said Sutherland.
While looking at one of the photos and talking to Dunn, student Simon Stroia says ethics could come into play depending how far along a woman is in her pregnancy.
"If it's looking like that, it would be pretty unethical to kill it," said Stroia.
Created Equal also held a demonstration outside of a local abortion clinic.
