COVID-19 Pop-Up Testing Will Be Offered This Sunday In Ypsilanti Township

The Washtenaw County Health Department is teaming up with Michigan Medicine this Sunday to host a pop-up COVID-19 testing event.  

It will take placefrom 11 am to 7 pm at the Ypsilanti Township Civic Center.  No appointments are needed for the drive-up or walk-up event.  Ruth Krautis the county’s deputy health officer and says the testing will be available for free to any resident who is experiencing symptoms like a cough or shortness of breath. 

Ruth Kraut: So if you are mildly symptomatic and you don’t know that you have COVID, you might be more likely to go out and about. Whereas, if you know that you have it, you’re going to stay home.

The test is conducted using a nasal swab sample and results will be available in about 48 hours.
