Help And Hope In Our Community

Every year, thousands of residents in Washtenaw county (and nearby Wayne county) go to Hope Medical Clinic on the south side of Ypsilanti for free food and medical care.  The executive director, Matt Hudson says they err on the side of compassion and will assist anyone who comes to them for help.

Just recently they re-purposed an old building on Harriett Street as a farm stand to hand out free produce to those in need several times a week.  They are partners with Food Gatherers which grows and donates some of the free produce.

Hudson says the need for their assistance is growing in Washtenaw county and they typically having a waiting list for food and care.  Hope Medical Clinic is operated almost entirely by individual donors and receives no federal funding.  He says they try to provide assistance with as much dignity as possible for those seeking assistance.
