A lawsuit is expected to be filed against the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office in the Sha’Teina Grady El case.
Sha’Teina Grady El is the woman who was punched by a sheriff’s deputy while being arrested in Ypsilanti Township in May. William Amadeo is Grady El’s attorney and says they plan to file an excessive force and police brutality lawsuit after she pleads no contest in an unrelated resisting and obstructing case in Wayne County.
William Amadeo: I don’t foresee any criminal charges coming out of Washtenaw for what happened to my client, so, we’re certainly are going to go on the attack.
We reached out to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office for comment, but they declined an interview. The state’s Attorney General’s Office is currently reviewing the Grady El case.
