Ann Arbor’s city council will consider a resolution tonight to allow Weber’s Hotel to temporarily use its property for a drive-in theater.
As a way to continue operating its business during COVID-19, Weber’s wants to host a drive-in theater on Friday and Saturday evenings through September 26th. The west parking lot of the property will be used to allow cars to park and view movies on a large screen that will be mounted in that area. City Council Member Jack Eaton from the fourth ward supports the resolution.
Council Member Eaton: We’re trying to assist businesses. They’re all suffering real hits to their pocket books.
If the resolution is approved, alcohol sales will be allowed at the drive-in. To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, a temperature gun will be used to measure the temperature of all guests entering the drive-in.
