EMU College in Prison

First introduced in psychiatric hospitals, art therapy has been documented for helping to reduce stress and anxiety. The connection between cognitive, social and personal competencies developed through the arts extends to prison inmates.

The Eastern Michigan University Undergraduate Research Symposium will feature incarcerated students enrolled in the school's "College in Prison" program in a first-of-its-kind occasion in Michigan. WEMU’s Ana Longoria has more.

Eastern Michigan University is helping some incarcerated people earn a degree while behind bars.
