ReporterAna Longoria joined WEMU as a reporter in August 2024, driven by a deep passion for capturing the pulse of local news.
Growing up, Ana faced the challenge of childhood apraxia, a speech impairment that required extensive therapy. Overcoming this obstacle ignited her determination to continually push her vocal abilities. Inspired by countless episodes of This American Life and her love for voice acting, Ana found her calling in interviewing.
During her time at Eastern Michigan University, Ana secured an internship with WEMU’s Lisa Barry, serving as a Production Assistant for All Things Considered. Lisa’s support, humor, and guidance became invaluable treasures that Ana carries with her.
Outside the newsroom, Ana indulges in a variety of interests. She is passionate about voice acting and enjoys narrating stories behind the mic. A fan of board and card games, anime, and Dungeons & Dragons, Ana also loves traveling to northern Michigan with her long-time girlfriend.
