Ann Arbor and the surrounding communities have been busy with such matters as a lawsuit involving the Library Lot and upcoming school board elections. These are just a few of topics discussed in this week's "Civic Matters" with WEMU's Patrick Campion and the CivCity Initiative's Mary Morgan.
It was light voter turnout for the primary elections in Washtenaw County. County elections director Ed Golembiewski had predicted 20-to-25% turnout among the more than 272,000 registered voters. In the end, under 18% cast a ballot.
Ann Arbor voters will chose a new mayor this year but the changes won’t necessarily stop there. Three of Ann Arbor’s 5 wards have contested Democratic Primaries for council seats. The first ward race pits incumbent Sumi Kailasapathy against challenger Don Adams Junior.
