Pittsfield Township Fire Department Conduct Training Exercise

Andrew Cluley

The Pittsfield Township Fire Department conducted a training fire at an old building on Ellsworth this afternoon.

The fire left clouds of smoke in the air and even had some people concerned the Lowes on Carpenter was on fire.  Lowes employees say there was little discussion of the fire by customers, other than some questioning if Mr. Roof was burning.

Like many, I first came to this area when I started school at the University of Michigan, then fell in love with the community and haven’t left. After graduating from U of M in the mid 1990’s I interned at WDET for several years, while also working a variety of jobs in Ann Arbor. Then in 1999 I joined the WEMU news team.
