Washtenaw County Groups Work Together To Employ Young Adults
The program is called Summer 16 and will offer part time work for eleven weeks for those between the ages of 16 and 24. Workforce Development Manager Shamar Herron says you don't have to be a student to apply. They are hoping that former students who dropped out of school, were pregnant, or have been in the juvenile judicial system will apply.
Those who are offered a job will work about twenty hours a week. The county is also looking for local businesses to sign-up for the program and help mentor youth in need in addition to offering them a job.
