YCUA Issues Boil Water Advisory For A Portion Of Its Service Area

The Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authorityhas issued a 'boil water' advisory for a portion of the Ypsilanti Township.

In a press release sent this morning, YCUA said it was shutting off water  and enacting a temporary boil water advisoryfor customers bounded by the following areas: Textile Road between Huntington Ave. and Hitchingham Rd. and Whittaker Rd. south of Stoney Creek Rd. to Paint Creek Rd.

The utility says the water shut-off is necessary as it makes water system improvements to the Textile Road booster station. The boil water advisory will remain in effect for a period of 24-hours after water service is restored.  The release says, " For precautionary measures, water to be consumed should be boiled for 3-5 minutes prior to consumption."  YCUA expects water service to be restored before the end of the day. If residents in the affected area do not have service by the end of the day, or are experiencing persistent problems, YCUA asks customers to call 734-484-4600 extension 307.
