Next week’s Ann Arbor City Council meeting will take place as planned, although some precautionary measures are being taken amidst concerns over the coronavirus.

The city recently announced it was cancelling many of its regularly scheduled events and meetings and placing additional restrictions on other city operations.

Mayor Christopher Taylor says the meeting is open to the public, but they are encouraging people to view the meeting online instead of coming in person.

“All city council meetings are broadcast on Community Television Network.  You can track them on the internet. We have an e-comment system that enables people to communicate to city council about matters of interest on the agenda in advance and in writing,” says Mayor Taylor.
Taylor says they will also be taking additional, in-person precautions at the meeting, such as spreading chairs further apart.
