United Way Of Washtenaw County Launches New COVID-19 Community Relief Fund

United Way of Washtenaw County

The United Way of Washtenaw County is taking steps to help local non-profits affected by the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

It’s created a new “COVID-19 Community Relief Fund” to help local organizations that are struggling with increased need, staffing costs, and other issues related to the spread of the disease.

President and CEO Pam Smith says they believe many non-profits are going to face uncharted needs and requests for assistance as the pandemic continues.

“This relief fund will meet the emerging and critical needs in our community related to the pandemic,” Smith says.

Smith says they’ve already raised more than $200,000 and want to eventually raise and distribute as much as $1 million.
