Washtenaw County’s Board of Commissioners will meet this week but with a few changes intended to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The board is meeting at 10 a.m. and with fewer commissioners present to help minimize the risk of potential exposure to the disease.
Commission Chair Jason Morgan says they’re postponing several non-essential items on the agenda and will instead focus on a new proposal to give an additional $250,000 to public health and other community services.
“We want our county administration and especially our public health officials to have the immediate resources they need to protect our residents,” Morgan says.
Commissioner Morgan says they are also trying to secure protective masks and other additional resources from the federal government.
