The coronavirus pandemic has impacted another local arts organization.  WEMU's Lisa Barry talks with the executive director of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival, Mike Michelon, about their decision to cancel all indoor ticket events for the upcoming season.

Mike Michelon says it was a tough and disappointing decision they had to make but adds they are committed to making something happen to bring people together this summer.  He says it's their job as an arts presenter to connect the community and be responsive at a time like this but adds he's not sure what that is going to look like right now.

Michelon says they are still looking at the Top of The Parkevents, part of the Summer Festival, and have a bit more time and flexibility in deciding whether that will take place or not.  He says they are looking at multiple tracks of planning and staying in close touch with multiple partners in hopes of it still taking place.  He adds they are hopeful they will be able to deliver something realizing it is an important part of civic life for people in this region.
