Ypsilanti Meals On Wheels Now Offering Virtual Volunteer Training Due To COVID-19

Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels

Ypsilanti’s Meals on Wheels has changed its volunteer training process as a result of the coronavirus.

Instead of having an initial, in-person orientation, the groupis now offering weekly virtual Zoom sessions to those interested in becoming volunteers.  That’s followed by an on-site presentation that requires volunteers to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.  Rolanda Logan is the volunteer coordinator for Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels.

Rolanda Logan: As we continue to find our new normal, we have to make sure that we adjust in finding techniques to keep our volunteers engaged.

To ensure the safety of the staff and volunteers, training is now limited to a maximum of four participants.
