Ypsilanti Meals On Wheels Staying Connected To Clients

Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels

Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels has launched a new program called “Only a Ring Away”to help their clients during the COVID-19 crisis.

Staff and volunteers call clients once a week to ask about their mental and emotional well-being.  Sandy Bosch is a spokesperson for the organization and says this new service also helps maintain a social connection with many people who live alone.

"And then we ask about any symptoms they may have that could be a sign that they have contracted the COVID-19 virus. We ask if they’ve had a cough, a fever, shortness of breath, unusual fatigue."

Ypsilanti’s Meals on Wheels is currently making over 170 calls a week.
