Wiki Commons

City and township clerk offices across Washtenaw County will have extended weekend hours this week.

The City of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Ypsilanti Township are among the clerk’s offices that will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday.  Lima and Scio Townships will be open on Saturday and Sunday.  Washtenaw County Director of Elections Ed Golembiewskisays residents will be able to register to vote, obtain absentee ballots, and vote on the spot.  He adds that individuals will need to present proof of residency to register to vote.

Ed Golembiewski: That’s satisfied by a Michigan driver’s license or state ID with their current address on it, a current utility bill, bank statement, a paycheck or government check or other government documents. And it’s important to know that it does not need to be actually physically presented. You can have a photo of it on your phone or something like that.
