Today Is The Deadline To Get Insured Through Open Enrollment

Healthcare.gov

Washtenaw County residents who qualify for medical insurance through the open enrollment marketplace, have until December 15th at 11:59 PM to register.

The Washtenaw Health Plan is offering last-minute enrollment assistance by phone and e-mail to residents who need to get insured.  So far, the county has helped over 350 people enroll.  Jeremy Lapedis is the executive director of the Washtenaw Health Plan and says, now more than ever, because of COVID-19, it’s important to have medical insurance.

Jeremy Lapedis: All COVID tests are being offered for free for anyone regardless of insurance, but COVID can exacerbate other health conditions, and it’s important now to make sure that you’re in the top health you can be.

Between 4%-5% of residents in Washtenaw County currently do not have medical insurance.  For information on how to receive enrollment assistance through the county, click here.
