Ypsilanti Meals On Wheels Sees An Increase In Clients During The Pandemic

Ypsilanti Meals On Wheels

Ypsilanti’s Meals on Wheels has seen a drastic increase in the number of people they’re serving since the pandemic started.

Before the pandemic, Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels had 180 clients.  That number is currently at about 285 and counting.  Alison Foreman is the executive director of the group and says the demand increased because more and more people, especially senior citizens, are staying at home to avoid being exposed to COVID-19.

Alison Foreman: To meet that demand we went from serving four delivery routes to now we have six delivery routes.

Meanwhile, Ann Arbor’s Meals on Wheelscurrently serves between 250 and 300 people a week, but they plan to add another delivery route to their schedule that will allow them to serve an additional 30 clients a week.
