Ann Arbor’s curbside collection of compostable materials resumed this week.  WEMU’s Heather Irvine reports.

Yard bags and compost carts can be placed at the curb for weekly pickup starting this week in Ann Arbor.  Public Services Specialist Robert Kellar says our area has a very engaged composting population and that, while composting at home never really stops, commencement of curbside collection is a marker of spring.

“We start going to people's homes with our vehicles and picking up carts or paper yard bags, and that will run through December.”

Last year, the pandemic caused an interruption in the collection of compost bags.  This year, both carts and bags will be picked up on regular collection days.
