Dylan Charles is an Indie Soul Folk singer/songwriter/producer based in Ann Arbor, MI. His songs blend soulful lyrics with dynamic guitar playing, and his performances are powerful and memorable.
He is currently releasing a series of singles for a concept album called LIGHTside/darkSIDE. The first three tracks “Ship”, “Seeing You” and "Strong at Heart" are now streaming and more are on the way.
LIGHTside/darkSIDE will be Dylan’s most ambitious solo record since his work with Bisbee, AZ band The Border Crossers on Time for Breakfast (2009) and Scorpions, Sickles & Skyscrapers (2011); both albums produced by Craig Schumacher (Calexico, Amos Lee, Devotchka and many more…)
While living in New York City from 2012-2023, Dylan’s creative energy was primarily dedicated to touring, writing and recording with his soul band On the Sun. On the Sun LP (2014), Gratuity Not Included EP (2018) and the single Get Focused (Live) (2019) all feature his work.
