College scholarships are available for Washtenaw Community Collegestudents, and you don’t have to be a graduating high school senior or honor student for eligibility.  WEMU’s Heather Irvine has more.

The Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation offers college scholarships, and the deadline for this fall is March 2nd at 3pm.  Community Investment Officer Maryellen Ferro says there are a plethora of endowments, and their foundation works to match students with funding.

“We have over 40 different scholarships at the foundation. Most of them are for graduating high school seniors, but we also have plenty that are for college-age students or students who are already enrolled, and we have some specifically for Washtenaw Community College, and then we have others that are not school-specific.”

The Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation’s website offers a pre-qualification questionnaire that can help you locate scholarships applicable to you and your college plans.
