The 58th Ann Arbor Film Festival will come to an end this weekend. WEMU's Jorge Avellan tells us how their move to an online only format has been going.
Festival organizers are happy with the response so far. While they expect to lose between $20,000 and $30,000 in ticket sales, audiences have been taking advantage of the free online streams. That's according to festival director Leslie Raymond.
"On opening night, we were well above 600 plus, typically we will see two, three or 400 people online at a time. I say people but I should translate that's a feed because we don't know how many are on the end of each one."
Raymond says those figures are higher than when they host the festival at a theater.
