City Of Ann Arbor Will Start Using Washtenaw County's Emergency Alert System

Aug 3, 2020

In mid-August, the City of Ann Arbor will start using Washtenaw County’s Everbridge emergency notification system to keep residents informed.

Mayor Christopher Taylor says residents can register for the free service on the county’s website to get all types of emergency notifications, such as flood and tornado alerts.  The notifications are sent by phone, email, or text.

Mayor Christopher Taylor: It’s a countywide system, but we are able to geo-locate people in a way that keeps Ann Arbor information in Ann Arbor.

The alert system will also inform residents when emergencies may impact the city’s drinking water and boil water advisories are issued.
