Wiki Commons

A democracy rally will be held on Wednesday, November 4th at the University of Michigan’s Diag.

TheInterfaith Council for Peace and Justice, along with other groups like Sunrise Movement Ann Arbor, will gather at 4 pm at the Diag to remind voters that democracy should be exercised beyond Election Day.  Eleanore Ablan-Owen is the co-director of the interfaith council and says the goal is to motivate voters to stay involved in local, state, and national politics.

Eleanore Ablan-Owen: It’s really important to hold elected officials accountable for what they’ve promised, what we expected them, from voting for them.

We Make Michigan is also helping organize the event.  Rally organizers ask that participants wear masks and maintain social distancing.
