The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority is getting a boost in funding from the federal government to help cover operational costs during the coronavirus pandemic.
We get the details from WEMU’s Taylor Pinson.
The Ride’s CEO, Matt Carpenter, says the additional funds will prove invaluable in the weeks to come.
“We really appreciate the support of the federal government. It really puts us in a position to be able to bounce back, to help the community get back on its feet,” Carpenter says.
Carpenter says the money will be used to help pay staff wages, offset lost fare revenue, and help cover the cost of cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
