YCS Opens New Center To Help Families During COVID-19

YCS

Ypsilanti Community Schools has opened a new Resiliency Center that is providing basic necessities to families in need during the pandemic.

The center opened on Tuesday, December 15th at the Willow Run Campus on Spencer Lane and will provide holiday assistance to an estimated 100 or more families from the district.  Holiday packages include food, clothing, and toys.  Marquan Jackson is the homeless liaison for Ypsilanti Community Schools and says the center was established because the district noticed that more and more families need help during the pandemic.

Marquan Jackson: And the purpose of this space is to create a one-stop shop for families who are in need of either basic needs or technology support or emergency food.

Jackson says Ypsilanti Community Schools families will also be able to get free personal protective equipment and school supplies at the center.  For more information on the center, click here.
