The 64th Ann Arbor Film Festival kicks off on Tuesday, March 24th! The festival is the world’s oldest experimental and avant-garde film festival and this year, the team has curated another fascinating line-up! There are always some changes to the festival each year, including a juried portion of the festival and some special programs to look out for. WEMU's David Fair gives you a sneak peak of the festivities with Ann Arbor Film Festival Executive Director, Leslie Raymond.

The 2025 Ann Arbor Film Festival is well underway! WEMU's David Fair got together with Nick Alderink to get an update. The Cinema Programming Director at Marquee Arts also provided previews of the latest round of new movies and special screenings available to you.

WEMU's David Fair presented a special edition of "Cinema Chat" this week. He was joined by Leslie Raymond, executive director of the Ann Arbor Film Festival. They discussed what you can expect for the 2025 edition of the longest running experimental film festival in the country!

The Independent Film Festival Ypsilanti (iFFY) gets underway Thursday and runs through Saturday at the Riverside Arts Center. This is the third year of the festival but, because of pandemic issues, it is the first in which it can be presented, as intended. Martin Thoburn is co-founder of the festival and Natalia Rocafuerte is the new Film Festival director, and they joined WEMU’s David Fair for a conversation on the iFFY journey.
