Oates Takes Colorado Post

By Andrew Cluley

Ann Arbor, MI – The city of Ann Arbor will need to find a new police chief, safety services manager, and interim fire chief.
On Tuesday, Aurora, Colorado officials named Dan Oates their new police chief.
Ann Arbor City Manager Roger Fraser says the city will need to find Oates' replacement soon, but says other quality staff members will give the city adequate protection during the search process.
Fraser says Oates' contract requires him to stay with the city for 45 days, and he expects Oates to remain until Thanksgiving.
Fraser says a national search for a new Ann Arbor police chief will likely take six months.
