Ann Arbor's Performance Network Theatre may re-open in the fall with operating expenses cut roughly in half. Former staff members and other supporters will present the proposal to the Performance Network Theatre board next week, less than a month after operations were suspended.
Proposed Executive Producer Daniel Walker says they will need help in addressing old debt. He says the plan is to fundraise and hopefully have the debt taken care of before shows start in October.
The proposal includes a slighlty reduced season with a focus on the professional productions and Fireside Festival of New Plays. Walker thinks maintaining the Performance Network name is key because it allows them to stay in the existing location on Huron.
