Plans To Open A New Dog Park In Ann Arbor Continue To Move Forward

City of Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor's Planning Commission will meet tonight.  Plans for a new dog park will be included in a general parks and recreation presentation.

City park planner Amy Kuras says plans to convert Broadway Park into a dog park continue to move forward.  More than 85% of people who took a park survey are in favor of the project.

Kuras added that, in order for the park to open, City Council needs to approve an ordinance change allowing dogs to run free without a leash at that park.  Council will consider the change in April.

If the project goes through, the dog park could open during the summer.
