Washtenaw County Health Receives Complaints Possibly Tied To Recent Food Contamination

Helder Ribeiro

Washtenaw County health officials are looking into some health complaints from residents who said they shopped at local stores where a man was allegedly contaminating unpackaged food.

I spoke with Kristen Schweighoefer, the Environmental Health Director for Washtenaw County Health.

It's believed the man was putting a combination of alcohol-based hand sanitizer, water, and mouse poison on fresh food at 3 different stores including the Whole Foods Market on Eisenhower Parkway, the Meijer on Ann Arbor-Saline Road, and a Plum Market on North Maple Road.
