The annual sky show known as the "Perseid Meteor Shower" takes place this week.

I spoke with Norbert Vance, director of the Sherzer Observatory at Eastern Michigan University, about what to expect... and when...

Every year around this time, the earth plows through a stream of material left over from a comet and creates a special sky show.

Vance says it's like driving through a snowstorm with a flurry of debris.

There have been predictions that this year's Perseid Meteor shower is expected to be busier than usual.

Vance says they will be traveling at 37 miles per second but no one knows for sure what will happen.
