Millions of people are expected to enter a sweepstakes to win a home in Ann Arbor.  In the process, local companies have benefited from the project.

The fully renovated 1920's craftsman's style home on Spring Street looks like it was taken out of a page from a magazine.  The dark green exterior fits perfect with Ann Arbor's greenery.

Project manager ScottBranscom explains why Ann Arbor was chosen for the Urban Oasis giveaway.

"We love the environmentally friendly aspect of it and when we were in our build and even now with energy conservation and walkability, to me is very important or bikeability. I see tons of people riding their bikes here. There are tons of bike racks downtown."

The fully furnished 1,500 square foot home has an urban garden in the backyard.

Dan Williams from Maven Development in Ann Arbor was hired for the project.

"We were happy that they hired someone local. As far as Maven Development, hopefully, there will be other opportunities for other projects to come with being associated with HGTV."

Local company HoMedicsGroup also helped by installing high-end speakers and aromatherapy devices around the house.  Nate Stemen is a spokesperson for them.

"When we found out it was Ann Arbor, we all celebrated. It was big cheers all around."

One lucky person will win the house by the end of the year.
