Washtenaw County Law Enforcement Agencies On The Lookout For Impaired Drivers

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign is in full force in Washtenaw County.

Local law enforcement officers have designated over 200 hours for the impaired driving enforcement.  The campaign will be in effect until March 29th.  

Derrick Jackson is a spokesperson for the Washtenaw County Sheriff's office.

"And the reason we're doing it is St. Patrick's Day has become one of the deadliest holidays around the country, due to the fact that so many drunk drivers being out on the road."

In 2015, 384 peopledied in Michigan in alcohol and or drug-involved traffic crashes--an increase from 319 deaths in 2014.
