The local Humane Society is looking for cat and kitten adopters after nearly 50 cats were rescued from an animal hoarder in Plymouth.
After many years of complaints from neighbors, the Humane Society of Huron Valley was finally able to go into a Plymouth home where they rescued 50 cats from filthy conditions. Humane Society President and CEO Tanya Hilgendorf says the cats were found in a situation not suitable for people or animals of any kind…
“There were piles of excrement throughout the house, a hot tub literally filled with excrement, dead animals in plastic containers,” says Hilgendorf.
About 30 of the rescued cats are not socialized but could be used as so-called “working cats” on local farms. The Humane Society president says because it’s “kitten season,” they are already busy trying to find homes for the cats on hand and would appreciate hearing from any interested or potential cat rescuers.
