This week’s Art and Soul is about the culinary arts in our area. 89.1 WEMU'S Lisa Barry is joined by local food expert and blogger Jessica Webster as they speak to the founder and owner of Go! Ice Cream in Ypsilanti, now celebrating its first anniversary at their downtown location.
Rob Hess started peddling around Ypsilanti several years ago on a tricycle selling ice cream from his bike. One year ago, he opened an ice cream shop at 10 N. Washington Street in Ypsilanti.
Go! Ice Cream is a small Michigan-based company that crafts artisan ice creams in small batches using local ingredients. Hess did a lot of research to come up with the unique flavors he serves, as well as the handmade waffle cones he serves the ice cream in. He has planned a special celebration for the one-year anniversary of Go! Ice Cream for Friday, August 4th. Find out more about that here.
