Racist Fliers Found On EMU Campus

White supremacist literature has been discovered on the Eastern Michigan University campus.

Fliers promoting a group called “Identity Evropa” have been discovered in several locations around the Ypsilanti campus.  "Identity Evropa" is a group that touts its white, European heritage and insists its members are under cultural attack and need to further assert white identity in today’s multi-cultural world.

EMU officials are aware of the postings.  The school released a statement saying:

“Fliers promoting a white supremacist organization have been discovered posted on several buildings on Eastern Michigan University’s campus. The fliers and the hateful, racist causes they promote run completely counter to Eastern’s core values of diversity, inclusiveness and respect. They also violate EMU's policies regarding postings, and therefore are being removed as we learn of them. Similar fliers have been found at other universities in the United States.”

Last September, racist graffiti was discovered on the outside of a few of the campus buildings. There were other instances of supremacist literature being found on campus during the 2016-2017 academic year, as well.  Investigations into those cases remain open, but no suspect has been identified and no arrests made.
