As you can imagine, the Washtenaw County Road Commission is busy clearing snow from the roads to make this evening's and tomorrow morning's commute a smooth one.

46 plow and salt trucks have been deployed across the county to help drivers travel safely.  Major roads and highways are a priority, but secondary roads, like subdivision streets, will not be ignored.

Jim Harmonis the Director of Operations for the Washtenaw County Road Commission.

"We certainly discourage folks from snow blowing or plowing or shoveling snow into the road. Really, put that on the roadside, along the frontages, not into the street."

Harmon also recommends to not park your car on the road, so it's easier for them to plow.

Over 90 employees from the county are working around the clock to help clear the roads.Non-commercial, fact based reporting is made possible by your financial support.  Make your donation to WEMU todayto keep your community NPR station thriving.
