The Ann Arbor YMCA has joined forces with Eastern Michigan University, the Ypsilanti Housing Commission, and Ypsilanti Community Schools to offer a new childcare program.

The Collaborative - Ypsilanti YMCA Child Development Center will be housed at the former Chappelle Community School building.  It will accommodate about fifty children between 18 months and five years of age.

Toni Kayumiis president of the Ann Arbor YMCA.  He says another goal is to help break the poverty cycle.  The center will open this summer and enrollment priority will be given to children of parents who are part of one of the participating organizations.
