Touting the improvements made in Michigan under Governor Rick Snyder's leadership, Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley will speak about why he should be the state's next governor at the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti Regional Chamber luncheon Thursday, June 7th.

89.1 WEMU's Lisa Barry spoke to the lieutenant governor about his vision for the state.

Calley says nearly 8 years later following the Snyder administration, one of the biggest challenges facing Michigan is not enough people to fill all the jobs that have been created.  And he says moving forward into the future is all about talent development in the state.

"Talent is the new currency of economic development,” says Calley.  “When you have people that can do the sorts of things that are demanded by today’s economy, this ever increasing global and technical economy, when we have the people that can do the type of work we get the investment.  We get the growth."

Calley admits there has been "under investment" in Michigan's roads and promises millions of dollars are being spent now to see that they are improved.
