Senator Debbie Stabenow Makes "Made In Michigan" Tour Stop At Eastern Michigan University

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow kicked-off a "Made in Michigan" tour across the state Monday and one of her stops was in Ypsilanti.

A group of over 20 people stopped by Eastern Michigan University's student center to hear Senator Stabenow speak about the importance of supporting local businesses.  The incumebtn Democrat says  when you buy local, you help create more jobs in your community.

"I don't think we don't have an economy unless somebody makes something or grows something.  And I want to  make sure that we are successful by generating an economy where our kids will stay here and thrive," said Stabenow.

The senator added that constant online shopping could result in local businesses closing.  Stabenow is facing a challenge from Republican businessman and military veteran John James in the November 6th election.
