Every April, millions of readers, teachers, librarians, and, of course, poets celebrate the art of poetry during National Poetry Month. Each Friday this month, we will feature someone from the Eastern Michigan University community sharing a poem on WEMU.
This week, we will hear from recent EMU graduate and poet Caroline Wright, reading an original piece she calls "Living in the Tropics."
About Caroline Wright
Caroline Wright is a recent graduate of EMU who lives in Metro Detroit and works as a content writer. Her fascination with people and relationships from a young age led to the publication of a full-length poetry collection, “Chemistry, Not Science: A Book of Poems” (Meridia Publishers, 2015). She followed up with the creation of an award-winning blog, “Dating a Poet,” in 2016. Her feature poem was first published in Third Wednesday (Vol XII, No. 2, 2019), and more of her poetry is forthcoming in The Wayne Literary Review.
