This past weekend brought heavy storms to southeast Michigan. That led to hundreds of thousands of residents without electricity much of the outages centered in Washtenaw and Livingston Counties. WEMU's David Fair talked with Heather Rivard, senior vice president of electric distribution at DTE Energy, about the ongoing effort to get to full restoration.
Overview:
*At the peak, about 600-thousand DTE Energy customers were without power
*As of 9am Monday morning, there were still 250-thousand without power.
*DTE expects 80-percent of power will be restored by the end of Monday evening.
* DTE says 90-percent will be restored by end of the evening, Tuesday.
* DTE says full restoration is expected by end of day Wednesday.
