UAW Workers At Willow Run Plant Take Part In National GM Strike

Nearly 50,000 UAW union members walked off the job at General Motorson Monday as part of a national strike.  That included workers from the Customer Care and Aftersales plant atWillow Run in Belleville.  About 20 of them picketed outside the plant holding signs that read "UAW on Strike."  Ciara Tucker works in packaging at the plant and says they want better wages, job security, and better benefits.

Ciara Tucker: Better insurance. Insurance is very important and paying higher insurance and making less money--it's just not well.

Over 100 employees work at the Willow Run site and say they will continue to picket until GM offers them a fair contract.  On its website, GM released a statement saying, "Negotiations have resumed.  Our goal remains to reach an agreement that builds a stronger future for our employees and our business."
